– IRELAND –
On March 8th we students of the second year set off for a one week trip in Ireland. We arrived that same afternoon, after a 2 hours flight and a 4 hours bus ride, in Castelbar. That day we housed in the Lough Lannagh Resort and went for a walk around the nearby lake.
The following days, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, we were divided into two groups, boys and girls, and we went to two different schools where we assisted and participated to some lessons and did various activities with the Irish students.
On Saturday we visited the beautiful city of Galway where we had lunch, visited some places and did shopping.
On Sunday we went to Westport where we visited the Westport House with its gardens and the small city. That same night we had to cook dinner ourselves but we failed at this job so the great majority of us students ended up by ordering a pizza.
The next day, once again, we went to school for the morning and in the afternoon we had a guided tour of Castelbar, which we really enjoyed!
On Tuesday, which was our last day in Ireland, we set off at 5:30am by bus from Castelbar and at 9am we arrived in Dublin. There we did some shopping and visited the city with some of its famous places as the University of Dublin, Temple Bar and Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. That night we caught a flight and returned to Italy.
We had a great time there and enjoyed every single minute of our wonderful trip, despite the sometimes bad weather..

L’8 marzo noi studenti di seconda superiore siamo partiti per una gita di una settimana in Irlanda. siamo arrivati quello stesso pomeriggio, dopo 2 ore di aereo e 4 di bus, a Castelbar. Quel giorno abbiamo alloggiato al Lough Lannagh Resort e abbiamo fatto una passeggiata sulle sponde di un lago.
Nei giorni seguenti, precisamente dal mercoledì al venerdì, ci hanno divisi in due gruppi, uno composto da ragazze e uno da ragazzi, e siamo andati in due scuole differenti dove abbiamo assistito e partecipato ad alcune lezioni e attività con gli studenti irlandesi.
Quel sabato abbiamo visitato la bellissima città di Galway dove abbiamo pranzato, abbiamo visitato alcuni posti e abbiamo fatto shopping.
La domenica siamo andati a Westport dove abbiamo visitato la “Westport House” con i suoi giardini e la piccola città. Inoltre, quella sera, abbiamo dovuto prepararci la cena da soli, ma non ci siamo riusciti quindi la maggioranza di noi è finita per ordinarsi una pizza.
Il giorno seguente, siamo andati a scuola durante la mattina, e, al pomeriggio, abbiamo partecipato ad un tour guidato della città, che mi è piaciuto molto!
Il martedì, ultimo giorno della nostra gita in Irlanda, siamo partiti alle 5:30 del mattino da Castelbar e alle 9:00 eravamo a Dublino. Lì abbiamo fatto shopping e abbiamo visitato la città con alcuni dei suoi posti più famosi come l’Università di Dublino, “Temple Bar” e la cattedrale di san Patrizio. Quella stessa sera abbiamo preso l’aereo e siamo tornati in Italia.
E’ stata una gita stupenda e ci siamo divertiti tutto il tempo, nonostante il clima non sempre favorevole…
